The World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship was pushed north of the border this year due to COVID-19. The event will be played at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida, as the WGC-Workday Championship. DeChambeau missed the cut last week at 2-over par. It was his first MC since The Northern Trust at the beginning of last season’s FedEx Cup Playoffs. He slipped to 11th in the Golfweek rankings but has the eighth-best odds to win this week.
He won the 2015 NCAA Championship hosted here and has an experience edge over most of the field with this being the first PGA Tour event played at The Concession. DeChambeau also ranks second on Tour for the 2020-21 season with 2.32 Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green per round.
The reigning US Open champ was the runner-up at last year’s WGC in Mexico and later tied for 30th at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. His all-or-nothing style is well-suited to the no-cut format of WGC events.

Zalatoris continues to fly up the Golfweek rankings and is No. 9 following his T-15 finish at the Genesis Invitational. He has finished outside the top 17 in just one of four events to open his 2021 schedule.
The 24-year-old one-time Korn Ferry Tour winner has never played in a WGC event, but he tied for sixth at last year’s US Open against all of the same top competition. His odds are inflated from other events this season, but he has already proven his worth against similarly strong fields.

Westwood, 47, hasn’t won on the PGA Tour since 2010, but he won last year’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship on the European Tour over many of the world’s top golfers.

The veteran is averaging 0.46 SG: Putting through 19 measured rounds to go with 0.29 SG: Off-the-Tee. He tied for 13th at last year’s US Open and was the runner-up at the Euro Tour’s marquee DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, in mid-December. He frequently contends in strong fields on both Tours despite poor recent results in WGC events.

Though he missed the cut in each of the last two runnings of this event, he returns with his first PGA Tour victory and three other wins on the European Tour since then.
Ancer leads the PGA Tour in driving accuracy at 72.50% through 40 rounds. Additionally, he’s T-31 in par 5 scoring average and T-37 in bogey avoidance, all of which are key stats for the 7,189-yard, par-72 TPC Sawgrass.

He has two missed cuts in six international events in 2021, but he tied for fifth at The American Express and is coming off a quality T-18 showing against most of this week’s top competition at the WGC-Workday Championship. He tied for 12th in his debut at this event in 2019 with 2.02 strokes gained on the field per round from tee to green.

This is a staggering price for last week’s runner-up to DeChambeau. Westwood was third in last week’s field with 1.57 SG: Approach and led the field with 3.30 SG: Tee-to-Green per round. His shorter driver won’t be as much of a disadvantage against this week’s top contenders at the shorter venue as it was against DeChambeau Sunday at Bay Hill.
